The four lists included in this compilation are:
Baseball Prospectus and Jason Parks
ESPN and Keith Law
Scout.com and Kiley McDaniel
MLB.com and Jim Callis/Jonathan Mayo
Later on we will come back with the Baseball America, John Sickels, and Fangraphs included as well (These are typically released in February/March)
Now the process,
I took each list and assigned point values for each rating a player got. The first ranked player got 100 points (101 for Baseball Prospectus), the second player 99 (100 for BP), and so on down the line, with the last player ranked receiving 1 point. I then added up the points for each player and ranked them from top to bottom.
For Scout.com, since Kiley didn't rank a group of players due to them being expected to start the season in the Big Leagues, I averaged the score of all of the other rankings in order to balance out the list, otherwise these players would be severely under ranked. (These players are Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley, Kolten Wong, Nick Castellanos, Travis D'Arnaud, Billy Hamilton, and Matt Davidson). Also, international signees Masahiro Tanaka, Jose Abreu, and Miguel Gonzalez have not been included.
