Daily Hot Stove Wrap Up 11/9

-The winning bid for Korean left-handed pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu came in at 25.7 million dollars, however the winning bidder has not been revealed.  The Cubs were interested but rival GMs believe that the Dodgers placed the winning bid.

-The Giants are close to a 3 year deal with reliever Jeremy Affeldt worth somewhere between 15 and 20 million dollars.

-The Rangers are very interested in top starting pitcher Zack Greinke.  The Angels are still the front runner, but the Dodgers are also expected to get involved.

-All 8 players that had qualifying offers on the table (Josh Hamilton, Michael Bourn, Kyle Lohse, Adam LaRoche, BJ Upton, Hiroki Kuroda, Rafael Soriano, and Nick Swisher) rejected them, making them all free agents.

-Washington Nationals Manager Davey Johnson agreed to a new contract with the team to manage through at least next year.

-The Cubs offered starting pitcher Francisco Liriano a contract, although the terms of the deal are unknown at the moment.

-The Tigers offered starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman a contract, despite the pitcher not playing in the Major Leagues since 2010.

-Multiple teams are interested in outfielder Michael Bourn including the Nationals, Phillies, Reds, and Red Sox.  Bourn plays a great center field and is a reliable bat at the top of the order.

  1. Bonderman is 30, it's probably not gonna happen but we should be cheering for him to happen. And if Brandon Webb, Scott Kazmir, Noah Lowry or someone else who was hurt far too soon want to give it a shot again, I'll be cheering for them too
