Daily Hot Stove Wrap Up 11/11

Today was an extremely slow day for news, maybe the general managers were busy watching football (Go Bears!!)

-As many as 5 teams are interested in outfielder Melky Cabrera, but the Mets and Yankees are not among them.  Cabrera could be a great buy low option following his 50 game suspension.

-Nick Swisher is in high demand, with teams like the Mariners, Rangers, Orioles, Phillies, Braves, and Giants being interested.  Swisher could demand a contract approaching 100 million dollars and a return to the Yankees is unlikely.

-The Twins are interested in a variety of starting pitchers, including Brandon McCarthy, Joe Blanton, Anibal Sanchez, Ryan Dempster, and Brett Myers.

-Giants infielder Emmanuel Burris elected to become a free agent after being outrighted to AAA.  Burris would provide good depth up the middle for a team needing a backup middle infielder.

-Nationals General Manager said that if the team isn't able to resign Adam Laroche that he would be happy rolling with Michael Morse or Tyler Moore at first base and signing an outfielder through free agency.

-Rangers top prospect Jurickson Profar got off to a great start in the Dominican Winter League where he plays for Licey.  He collected 3 hits, including a triple on Friday and hit a walk-off home run today.

Be sure to check in with us all week as we will be reviewing the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Also welcome to the Full Count team Chris Niermann.  Chris will be handling the hot stove daily wrap up as well as the behind the scenes design of the blog itself.
